What kind of seeds do they use? How do they make the designs on the green? Can I do this at home?

The greens cost about $40k so if you have that kind of money go ahead. But as for the fairways they are all different types depending on your area, they just aerate them and fertilize and cut them regularly along with plenty of water. Ask your local course greenskeeper what he uses, they love to share this information with appreciative patrons.

The greens are bentgrass, that has to be watered daily and kept cut short. they make the greens almost entirely out of sand and fertilize them well.

As far as greening, they use nitrogen and Iron to green it up. Greens are typically bent grass, and they use lawn rollers to create designs in the grass. I would cost you a lot of moolah to do this at home, you would have to water 23 hours a day.

I would recommend fertilizing your lawn 4-5 times a year(every 6 weeks), and you should have the best lawn on the block.

    Good Luck!
