What is the rarest, most difficult accomplishment a player can make in ONE game?

golfing

Although I’m not a big sports fan, I’ve always wondered what is hardest — a hole in one (golfing), bowling a 300 game, pitching a no-hitter — or something else? What’s the most spectacular thing in sports?

What are the best golf clubs for a women that is just starting?

golfing

And which clubs are easier to use. I have no style or preference at this time. I just want to get the ball where it needs to go with the least amount of strokes. I want to enjoy it, not be a professional.
I am 5′8″ and have been told that I could use mens clubs? I am right handed to.

Golf Bags

golf vacation

From Callaway to Ogio,

Travel Golf Bags to Discount Bags

Men’s Bags, Ladies Bags, Junior Bags.

There must be thousands of types, styles, colors, makes and models of the simple golf bag. They are made by the well known giants like Nike, Callaway, Ping, Titleist, Wilson, Cleveland, Taylor Made and the specialty golf bag companies like Ogio, Sixron, Mizuno, Sun Mountain, Benetti, Datrek and more. And all you wanted to do was find someplace to put your clubs.

But, before looking at the many golf bag manufacturers, take a moment to decide what golf bag best fits the way you play golf.

If you are a walker and enjoy strolling your favorite golf course, consider a Carry Bag. They are lightweight and most often made of plastic, nylon or even canvas. They can handle your basic golf clubs and your balls, tees and a towel. They often come with a stand that keeps your clubs upright when you are making a shot. Golf Carry bags were introduced in the early 1980s when Sun Mountain introduced the first bag with legs that automatically extended when it was set down on the ground.

These days, the cart bag is probably the most popular golf bag. A bit too bulky to carry, it fits nicely on a hand pushed cart frame or the back of a golf cart. The cart golf bag is large enough to hold all your clubs, shoes, towels and all the other accessories that are so helpful out on the golf course. They can be carried in a pinch, but a strong back is a definite requisite.

The third option is called a staff bag. These are carried by the professionals and people who want to have every imaginable club (up to the allowable 14 club limit) and anything else the golfer might want to carry on his or her round. We are usually in caddy territory here.

These days many golfers take their clubs on golf vacations and sometimes even on business trips. The golf travel bag has fast become another popular golf bag option. The soft bag is good when traveling by car. It is usually lighter and more compact. The carry bag is a good option here.

However when an airplane is part of the itinerary, a hard golf travel bag is a must. The hard shell case bag protects your clubs from being damaged. But they fit nicely on your golf cart when you arrive. These golf bags are considered luggage and not recommended when walking the golf course. However, they are an absolute must when packing your clubs for the airport. Nothing can ruin a golfing vacation more than a broken or bent set of golf clubs.

Golf bags also come in different shapes and sizes with these categories. Ladies and junior golfers certainty have different weight and size requirements than the men.

One can also easily find discount and used golf bags online or at your local pro shop.

The absolute best place to shop for golf bags is online. With a few mouse strokes you can visit many different Internet stores, do your research and find the bag that absolutely meets your unique golf bag criteria and even color. You can also find used golf bags on sites like E-bay and there are always special sales and ever present discount offers. In some cases, they can be downright cheap. The avid golfer can even find individual customized golf bags. It’s all online.

For many golfers, one bag isn’t enough. Many enthusiastic golfers own two or three so they will have the perfect bag for the perfect round.

That fancy golf club on Mount Pleasant Rd has the best gingersnap cookies. I’m not a member. I only went a few times with my ex. I asked thier old pastry chef (she has a cake shop in Burlington) but she wouldnt give me the recipe (said it wasnt hers to give) If you know anyone who works there, their kitchen takes students interns, Please give me the recipe. Every year before the holidays I try to find it. Though I never tried actually calling the place and asking. (Too embarassed) I don’t think they’d give it to me.

Mallorca - Perfect For 2008 Golf Holidays

golf resort

If you’re thinking about taking a golf holiday this year then Mallorca could be the perfect place to head for.

Festive night life, year-round sunshine and great shopping aside, Mallorca has made a name for itself in the tourism industry as a paradise for golf enthusiasts - so what is it about Mallorca that makes it the perfect golf vacation?

Alcudia, Mallorca is home to Pula, one of the world’s finest golf resorts. Founded in 1995, Pula has become an internationally acclaimed golf course. Thanks to a world-class upgrade which began in 2005, Pula is now ranked number one in Alcudia out of 14 golf courses, boasting the longest and most demanding links and a par 70. Nestled at the foot of a majestic mountain range, golfers of all skill levels will get a thrill out of playing the scenic course at Pula. Pula also features a stunning driving range and two putting greens for golfers who want to fine tune their skills at one of the world’s most astounding golf courses.

The upgrades that were made in 2005 were undertaken in part to bring Pula up to professional golf standards and now Pula has been put on the map for one more reason - the Mallorca Classic. The last of the European PGA tour stops on the circuit before the Volvo Masters, and the Mallorca Classic draws the best PGA players from Europe every October. In fact, the Mallorca Classic at Pula is the last chance for PGA players to make the top 115 on the Order of Merit and hold onto their spot for the next season’s tour.

Last year’s Mallorca classic wrapped up in October and those who were lucky enough to get a ticket were able to see Gregory Bourdy of France win his first Mallorca Classic title. It appeared as though Robert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands would edge Bourdy out in the last few rounds. Perhaps the fact that play was suspended for several days in a row due to uncharacteristically inclement weather threw Derksen’s game off. Bourdy managed to slip ahead for a 3-under par win, becoming the 18th first time winner on the tour and setting a new record for the European PGA for the most maiden tournament winners in a single season.

Bourdy’s maiden win at the Mallorca Classic last October only served to boost the image of Pula even more. Golfers from Europe and elsewhere can count themselves in an elitist class when they make a round at Pula a part of their vacation itinerary. While in Mallorca, tourists would also do well to take in as many of the other thirteen local golf resorts as they can too. Although many of them have not had the exposure of Pula, they are still well worth including during a Mallorca golf holiday.

Golf aside, there are many other reasons to visit Mallorca. Mallorca is rich with cultural heritage, rife with top-notch night clubs and restaurants and has plenty of family-oriented destinations for those who are travelling with children. However, for the avid golfer, nothing could make a Mallorca holiday better than playing the links at the world-renowned Pula Club.

An Exclusive Resort For a Golf and Spa Vacation in Jamaica

golf resort

An exclusive resort for a golf and spa vacation in Jamaica enquiry, leads one very quickly to the The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort in Rose Hall.

It is situated on the historic 5000 acre Rose Hall Plantation Estate at Montego Bay, and The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort manages to do the almost impossible. It has 427 rooms and suites, so it is a large exclusive resort but somehow it feels intimate and small

This exclusive resort is on the north coast of Jamaica, close to Montego Bay, and it sits in a small cove of its own, and you should be prepared for the fact the beach is small and not as good as many others.

If you are here at the Ritz Carlton for the Spa and the Golf, then you will certainly not be disappointed. The Spa covers 8000 square feet, has more than a dozen private treatment rooms, and the background perfume is an intriguing blend of allspice, the local hugely exported plant.

The treatments available go from The Sugarcane Body Scrub followed by a massage using tropical fruits made up as a cream. You can have the Nourishing Rose Body Wrap, a Close To You Couples Massage, then you can enjoy a Vita-Ginko Facial Treatment. If you want try a Lady of Rose Hall Bath with fragrant flower petals, the Matrimony Fruit Bath for two, and the Cabbage Salt Glow!!

Add to all this a sauna, a steam room, and a Beauty Salon, and all your cares will me massaged, Soaked or melted away before you know where you are!! An upgrade to the already very good facility is underway.

The highlight for golfers is the White Witch Golf Course, which winds its way through the mountainous parts of the Rose Hall Estate, a 10 minute shuttle ride away from the Ritz Carlton, is considered one of the finest golf courses in the Caribbean. It is a par 71 6859 yard course with spectacular ocean views, and a number of tricky holes. The green fees for guests vary between $125 to $189 per round depending on the time of year for hotel guests and whilst they don’t include taxes or a gratuity for the Caddie Concierge they do include the Caddie Concierge Programm, green fees, cart, and practice balls. The Caddy Concierges are an invaluable assist in finding your way round the course, and they will do all the mundane tasks like finding balls, raking bunkers, cleaning clubs, thus making your golf that much more enjoyable.

There is a lot more to this exclusive resort than just the Spa and the Golf. It is a well equipped resort, with good rooms, the four restaurants are excellent, and well mannered staff who look after the guests in a very old fashioned way seldom seen in the twenty first century.

You will enjoy the pool which is big enough, and seldom crowded, with enough sunbeds to go round. For a resort of this size The Ritz Carlton Jamaica never seems that busy, which is a tribute to the thought that went into the design and layout.

This exclusive resort will keep you occupied if you want to be, allow you to relax if you feel like being lazy, and generally justify its claim to being a top Jamaica Resort.
