I just want to buy golf balls for a friend and I don’t want to get something crappy.

It referes to the quality and material of the golf ball. Check out Golf Digest… Good luck

Just away to grade the quality of used golf balls. There is not a set standard for the grades. The more A’s is just away for one company to try to give the impression they have a better grade

I have never heard golf balls classified as aa and aaa, but you can never go wrong buying some kind of titelist. It is the number one ball in golf. I would not however buy them at walmart because that is the bottom of the barrel titelist and those are not good at all. However, if the person you are buying them for doesn’t play much then it probably doesn’t matter to them what kind of ball they use.

This is a standard for USED balls. It is subjective to interpretation but the more A’s = better condition. If the friend is an avid golfer he probably likes to place a new, clean, white ball on the tee and you may be better off buying them new balls. Find out what brand they like to play. Titleist is a popular brand and runs about $20.00 per dozen.

If the person is a newer or casual golfer, then they may not care so much about what brand and so you can buy them the used balls. I’d still suggest the AAA’s in lieu of the AA’s though.
